What's in the Box?
Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur's Gate Edition
Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur’s Gate is the next Magic set that will release on June 10th. At Gamers Grove, Commander is our store’s favorite format and we are really excited about this set! With so many different products coming out for this release, I wanted to go over what you can expect to find in each of them.
Draft Boosters
Each Draft Booster Pack contains 20 cards and includes one traditional foil card. One to 4 cards in each pack will be Rare or Mythic Rare. Draft Booster Boxes include 24 packs.
Draft Boosters are designed to be used in events, such as Draft or Sealed. If you are just opening them for fun, you will get the most cards for your money, but a majority will be Commons and Uncommons. We will have a limited amount of Draft Booster Boxes to sell during Prerelease week, which begins on June 3rd.
Set Boosters
Set Booster Packs contain 15 cards and you are guaranteed to open 1 Traditional Foil, 1 Etched Foil, and 1 Art Card. One to 7 cards in each pack will be Rare or Mythic Rare. Set Booster Boxes include 18 booster packs.
Set Boosters are what we recommend if you are just opening packs for fun. They still include a mix of Commons and Uncommons but you have a higher chance of getting multiple Rares or Mythics. We will have a limited amount of Set Booster Boxes to sell during Prerelease Week, beginning June 3rd.
Collector Boosters
Each Collector Booster includes 15 cards per pack of which 2 will be Foil Etched and 10 Traditional Foil. Six of the cards in each pack will be Rares or Mythic Rares, and Extended Art cards are exclusive to Collector Booster Packs. Each box contains 12 packs.
Collector Boosters are for collectors. If you want to open foils, lots of Rares, and Extended Art cards, Collector Boosters are for you.
Bundles
Bundles are a box set that includes 8 Set Booster Packs, 40 basic lands, 1 Promo Wand of Wonder, a Spin-down Life Counter, and a Storage Box.
If you want to get a deal on some packs and get a storage box to keep all of your Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur’s Gate cards together, I recommend a Bundle.
Also, the Spin-down Life Counter is exclusive to the Bundle.
What else is special about Commander Legends: Baldur’s Gate beside it being the second Commander only set? Rulebook Frames are back, Backgrounds add to your Commanders, and Faceless One helps you color fix during Draft and Sealed.
Rulebook Frames & Borderless Art
In addition to the Collector Booster exclusive Extended Art cards, Rulebook Frames and Borderless Art cards can be found in all of the boosters. Rulebook Frames were first introduced in Adventures of the Forgotten Realms Magic set and added a classic feel to your deck.
Can you build a Commander Deck out of Rulebook Framed cards only? We’d love to see what you come up with. Tag us on social with pics - #RulebookFrameChallege @GamersGrove
Backgrounds
Certain Legendary Creatures have “Choose a Background” in the text box. Players may choose a Background (the new enchantment subtype) to go with the Legendary Creature and have both act as their commander. The Background Enchantment begins in the Command Zone.
