As 2023 draws towards its end, Gamers Grove offers a warm welcome to anyone and everyone this winter season. Through the winter months we’ll be hosting a variety of fun events in addition to our normal schedule.
Christmas on the Square was a blast!
This past weekend was Huntsville’s annual Christmas on the Square; an opportunity for small businesses to engage with the community and share in the holiday spirit. We met a lot of Huntsville board gamers, Pokémon trainers, and so many more awesome community members. The highlight of the experience, for me, was getting to talk with so many game loving folks about their favorite Yu-Gi-Oh cards, 40k armies, Magic decks, and board games (and getting to pet their dogs!).
Secret Santa Sale
Throughout the month of December be sure to take advantage of our Secret Santa Sale! The deals are too good to list online but know this: almost everything in the store is marked down until Christmas Eve to celebrate the holidays! I’d tell you more but… it’s a secret.

Pokémon
In addition to our regularly scheduled Pokémon League Challenge on Dec 2nd, we’re also adding a Pokémon event at 6:30pm on Wednesday nights! Entry is $6 and players will compete for pack-per-win prizes.
These events are not part of our Pokémon League series and so will not include the promotional packs supplied to us for League days. However, these Wednesday night events will be a great way to hang out, learn the game, and win some packs! We encourage new players, young players, and parents of young players to come hang out and learn the game.
MTG Store Championship
Buckle up Standard players, it’s time to rumble! On Saturday Dec 9th we’ll be hosting our Store Championship series Standard tournament for MTG. There can only be one champion so slug it out with your Lost Caverns of Ixalan Standard decks to win the crown! In addition to the prestigious title of Store Champion, players will be competing for pack-per-win prizes and the following special promotional cards supplied by Wizards of the Coast:

Dino-Sized Draft
To celebrate our return to Ixalan, Wizards of the Coast has announced a “Dino Sized” Chaos draft event! In this event, hosted on Dec 16th at 5:30pm, you will be drafting from random Standard legal sets but with a twist…. You’ll be drafting from FOUR packs instead of three! Expect stronger decks, but also more random wackiness in this historic event.
Christmas Party & Holiday Hours
We’ll be throwing a Christmas Party with a white elephant gift exchange on Dec 23rd Bring a $10-$15 gift to participate! We’ll also be supplying cookies and hot wassail alongside our usual events for the day.
We’ll be closed Christmas day but the days surrounding it (Christmas Eve and the day after) will have normal store hours.
